AFDA (The South African School of Motion
Picture Medium and Live Performance) will be hosting a Holiday Workshop this winter
holiday for grade 11, 12 and first year (gap year) pupils interested in the
film industry on Thursday, 04 July.
This workshop is aimed for prospective students who would like to enrol in one of AFDA’s Degree programmes and need a better understanding or idea about what the curricula programme entails. The workshop will give pupils an introduction to some essential practical skills in creating an Entertainment product whether that be in acting, filmmaking, music or TV productions and this shall all contain practical demonstrations and exercises.
Franco Human, Dean of the AFDA Durban Campus says “This is a great opportunity for pupils that are in Grade 11, 12 and those that have decided to take a gap year to come and experience film production, music composition, acting etc in order to get a barring into what industry they would like to go into”. He goes onto say “We have all been in that position of not knowing what to study and what subjects you need to do in order to get into that field, we just want pupils to come down to the campus and have fun then decide to join us next year” says a jubilant Franco.
Registration is R 50.00 and includes the workshop, a meal and cool drink. Space is limited and is on a first come first serve basis, to book your spot e-mail your full school name, first name, surname, parents name and contact details to dbncampus@afda.co.za or milenag@afda.co.za.
